Comprehension Questions on Paragraphs

Examination paper में हर paragraph से दो questions पूछे जाते हैं। यहाँ practice के लिए और प्रश्न दिए गए हैं।

(1) Yudhishthira waited for... [From Para 1]

Q1. What had the brothers of Yudhishthira gone in search of?
Ans: They had gone in search of water. (युधिष्ठिर के भाई पानी की खोज में गए थे।)

Q2. What did Yudhishthira fear had happened?
Ans: He feared they had fainted or died of thirst. (युधिष्ठिर को भय था कि वे बेहोश या मर गए।)

Q3. What did Yudhishthira do?
Ans: He gave up waiting and went to look for them. (उन्होंने प्रतीक्षा छोड़कर खोजने निकले।)

Ans: Pride. (अभिमान।)

Long Answer Type Questions

Q1. Who was Yaksha? Why Yama took form of Yaksha?

Answer: Yaksha was Yama, the God of Death. He wanted to test Yudhishthira. He asked questions like: “What rescues man in danger? What is swifter than wind? What is happiness? What makes one Brahmana?” etc.

Q2. What happened to all brothers of Yudhishthira?

Answer: They ignored Yaksha’s warning, drank water, and died. (उन्होंने चेतावनी अनसुनी की और मर गए।)

Q3. Why did Yudhishthira want Nakula revived?

Answer: To maintain justice. Since Kunti’s son (he himself) was alive, he chose Madri’s son Nakula. Yaksha was pleased and revived all brothers.

Q4. Character Sketch of Yudhishthira

  • Eldest brother: Head of Pandavas.
  • Loving: He mourned brothers’ death.
  • Brave & Intelligent: Answered all questions wisely.
  • Lover of Justice: Chose Nakula for impartiality.

Short Answer Type Questions (About 25 words)

Q1. What doubts came in the mind of Yudhishthira when his brothers did not return?

Answer: He doubted whether they were cursed, still wandering for water, or fainted/died of thirst.

Q2. Where did Yudhishthira go and why?

Answer: He went to the forest in the direction of his brothers to search for them.

Answer: The way was through a forest full of wild bears, spotted deer, and big forest birds.
