1.Why NH3 is liquid and PH3 is a gas. Explain?
NH3 has molecules are associated to each through intermolecular hydrogen bonds where as in PH3 is no auch type of association between the molecules hence, it exist as gas.
2.Explain why HF is a liquid where as HCL , HBr and HI are gasses .
As there is hydrogen bonding in case of HF so, it is liquid where as HCL is gas there is lack of hydrogen bonding in HCL.
3. Which is more polar H2s or H2o and why?
Oxygen is more polar than sulphur therefore the hydrogen oxygen bond is more polar than the hydrogen sulphur bond.H2o has stronger Intermolecular dipole dipole interaction. Because of the greater polarity (or a hydrogen bonds) .H2s is bent, and bent at a smaller angle than is water.
