Use of 'May', 'Might' in English Grammar

May तथा Might का प्रयोग अनुमति लेना या देना तथा संभावना प्रकट करने के लिए होता है।

May का प्रयोग Present Tense में तथा Might का प्रयोग Past Tense में होता है।

Examples:

1. You may go now. (आज्ञा)
2. This news may be true. (संभावना)
3. She said that I might take her pen. (आज्ञा - Past)
4. We thought that it might get hot. (संभावना - Past)

Use of 'Shall', 'Should' in English Grammar

Shall का प्रयोग Future Tense में होता है और Should का प्रयोग परामर्श, नैतिक कर्तव्य और अनिश्चित संभावनाओं को दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है।

विशेष: Shall का प्रयोग I तथा We के साथ सामान्य भविष्य को दर्शाने हेतु किया जाता है, जबकि You और They आदि के साथ यह आज्ञा, वचन और धमकी व्यक्त करता है।

Examples of 'Shall':

1. I (we) shall go to Kanpur tomorrow. (सामान्य भविष्य)
2. You shall be promoted if you work properly. (नियमितता / वचन)
3. You shall come tomorrow. (आदेश)
4. You shall have your reward by the end of this month. (वादा)

Examples of 'Should':

1. If it should rain, I will not go. (अनिश्चित संभावना)
2. You should work very hard. (परामर्श)
3. We should obey our elders. (कर्तव्य)
