The Adverb :—
Definition: An Adverb is a word which modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
परिभाषा: Adverb (क्रिया विशेषण) वह शब्द होता है जो किसी Verb, Adjective अथवा किसी अन्य Adverb की विशेषता बताता है।
Kinds of Adverb (क्रिया-विशेषण के भेद):
Adverb मुख्यतः तीन प्रकार के होते हैं:
- Simple Adverb (सरल क्रिया-विशेषण)
- Relative Adverb (सम्बन्धवाचक क्रिया विशेषण)
- Interrogative Adverb (प्रश्नवाचक क्रिया विशेषण)
1. Simple Adverb:
यह समय (Time), स्थान (Place), संख्या (Number), विधि (Manner), मात्रा (Degree), स्वीकृति (Affirmative) और निषेध (Negative) को दर्शाते हैं।
(A) Simple Adverb of Time:
- She will come soon.
- He plays cricket daily.
(B) Simple Adverb of Place:
- He will go there.
- He slept here.
- Please come in.
(C) Simple Adverb of Number:
- She failed twice.
- Do it again.
- Always speak the truth.
(D) Simple Adverb of Manner:
- Our army fought bravely.
- The child slept soundly.
- The horse ran fast.
(E) Simple Adverb of Degree or Quantity:
- The day was very hot.
- He is quite right.
- The fruits are almost ripe.
- Renu sings pretty well.
(F) Simple Adverb of Affirmative:
- He is certainly wise.
- Surely you are right.
2. Relative Adverb:
यह दो वाक्यों को जोड़ता है और किसी noun या pronoun की ओर संकेत करता है:
- This is the house where I was born.
- The day when Christ was born is celebrated as Christmas.
- He told me the reason why he was late.
- This is the way how he passed.
3. Interrogative Adverb:
यह वाक्य की शुरुआत में प्रश्न पूछने के लिए होता है:
- Where does he go?
- Why are you late?
- When will you come?
