📘 The Adjective (विशेषण)

Definition: An Adjective is a word which says something about a Noun or Pronoun.

परिभाषा: जो शब्द किसी Noun अथवा Pronoun की विशेषता प्रकट करे, वह विशेषण (Adjective) कहलाता है।

🔹 Kinds of Adjective (विशेषण के भेद):

1. Adjective of Quality (गुणवाचक विशेषण):
   जो शब्द किसी वस्तु या व्यक्ति के गुण, दशा या अवस्था का बोध कराएं, जैसे:
   
   • Your shirt is blue.
   • Mona is intelligent.
   • She is my younger sister.
   • Mumbai is a big city.
2. Adjective of Quantity (मात्रक विशेषण):
   जो शब्द किसी वस्तु की मात्रा बताएं:
   
   • Give him all money.
   • Rohan drank much milk.
   • Monika takes great care.
   • The patient needs some rest.
3. Adjective of Number (संख्यावाचक विशेषण):
   जो शब्द व्यक्ति/वस्तु की संख्या बताएं:
   
   • Eight boys will get the prize.
   • Rishabh has two shirts.
   • Both of you may sit now.
   • My brother got second position.
4. Demonstrative Adjective (संकेतवाचक विशेषण):
   जो Noun की ओर इशारा करें:
   
   • This book is not mine.
   • These people are not blind.
   • Another boy should come to me.
   • I do not like such students.
5. Distributive Adjective (विभागसूचक विशेषण):
   जो व्यक्ति या वस्तु को अलग-अलग दर्शाएं:
   
   • Each boy has a book.
   • Every player got the prize.
   • You can take either chair.
   • Neither of the two girls did it.
6. Interrogative Adjective (प्रश्नवाचक विशेषण):
   जो Noun से पहले आकर प्रश्न पूछे:
   
   • What thing is this?
   • Whose car is that?
   • Which pen will you buy?
7. Proper Adjective (व्यक्तिवाचक विशेषण):
   जो Proper Noun से बने हों:
   
   • Indian people are religious.
   • British people are white.
   • We like Chinese sweets.
   • Kanpuri chappals are durable.

📊 Degrees of Comparison (तुलना की तीन अवस्थाएँ):

1. Positive Degree: किसी एक व्यक्ति, वस्तु की विशेषता बताए।
   उदाहरण: Great leader, Tall building, Difficult sum
2. Comparative Degree: जब दो के बीच तुलना हो।
   उदाहरण: Greater leader, Taller building, More difficult sum
3. Superlative Degree: जब दो से अधिक में सर्वोत्तम को दर्शाया जाए।
   उदाहरण: Greatest leader, Tallest building, Most difficult sum
